Waiteata Music Press

Waiteata Music Press was established by Douglas Lilburn, in 1967. Under the editorship of Jack Body, the Press has expanded to become the leading publisher of NZ music, with over 200 scores in the catalogue, representing over 60 composers, including David Farquhar, John Rimmer, Gillian Whitehead, Ross Harris, Lyell Cresswell and Jack Body. Appropriately it also includes, with a few exceptions, the complete works of Lilburn.

While many of the scores first published were facsimiles of the composers’ manuscripts, the majority of the scores are now computer set. Performance parts of selected chamber works are available on hire.

The Waiteata Collection of New Zealand Music is a series of compact discs to match published scores. Volume 10 will be released in 2006.

Waiteata Music Press is supported by the Lilburn Trust and the NZSM.
