Taonga pūoro artist featured in new documentary
Taonga pūoro artist Dr Richard Nunns is the subject of a new documentary feature film produced and directed by award-winning filmmaker and Victoria University academic Dr Paul Wolffram.

Sonic Artists exhibit in Parliamentary Gallery
A group of six sonic artists, all current or recent graduates from Te Kōkī New Zealand School of Music, have opened an exhibition of sound installations called Low Noise in the parliamentary gallery in Bowen House, Wellington.

NZSM premieres Verdi opera
With swashbuckling bravado, Te Kōkī New Zealand School of Music (NZSM) is marking the 200th anniversary of Italian opera composer Giuseppe Verdi’s birth by presenting a full-scale, four performance New Zealand premiere season of Il Corsaro this July, at the Opera House in Wellington.

Samoan Jazz for International Jazz Day
Tuesday 30 April was International Jazz Day and Opeloge Ah Sam, Pasifika Music Coordinator at NZSM, celebrated by sending a recording of his new composition Tupulaga Samoa to be broadcast at a special event in Auckland.

Quadrivium take up international offer
The Quadrivium String Quartet, newly formed by graduate and current students of Te Koki New Zealand School of Music in Wellington, has been invited to attend international summer schools and festivals in Canada and Australia in the coming months.

Accolades for 'Len Lye' animated imnprovisers
While the weather did not fully cooperate, the Lye in the Square event was still thoroughly enjoyed by an appreciative throng of around 400 people on the evening of Saturday 13 April.
