Information for schools and educators
Open days
Our open days are a great way to take a look around our School and meet staff and current students. Please see our Events page for details.
University information evenings for prospective students
New Zealand School of Music staff attend all the national Victoria University information evenings. If you have students interested in studying performance or music studies at our School, we encourage you to let your students and their families know about this opportunity. For more information, please see the Victoria University of Wellington website [external link].
Young Musicians Programme
Our Young Musicians Programme is a fantastic opportunity for school-aged students to learn individually and in combos and ensembles with some of Wellington's best teachers. Students also participate in regular concerts throughout the year.
School visits
If you are interested in having a School ensemble or soloist visit your School, please contact our marketing and events coordinator Stephen Gibbs.
Careers
Our dedicated and talented staff can take your performance students to the next level and there are numerous reasons why you should consider encouraging your students to study here. It is also important to remind your students that there are options to study papers about music without committing to a Bachelor of Music in Performance. See our pages on the Bachelor of Arts and also our range of Music Studies papers. See also the career paths that music graduates follow.
